GLOYAC | LOYAC's Global Programs
GLOYAC programs provide youth with internships and personal development opportunities worldwide. These experiences empower the young adults with the knowledge and skill to reach their full potential. In addition, GLOYAC volunteers engage in international community development projects such as K4K.
Launched in 2006 Kuwait 4 Kenya (K4K) introduces volunteers from Kuwait to remote villages in Mombasa where they actively contribute to enhancing the living conditions of the women and youth in those communities. Our focus is on helping the most disadvantaged. In past years, GLOYAC volunteers engaged in creating fresh water extensions, building schools, teaching, and establishing micro enterprises.
K4K | 2015
We are very excited to return to Mombasa this year!
In August, we plan to revitalise two impoverished communities by bringing a freshwater source closer to one, and by providing the other community's children with a safer a school to study in. These two projects will allow GLOYAC volunteers to be immersed in the host community by working with the locals and learning about their needs, as well as their traditions, culture and customs. This cross-cultural experience enriches the soul in more ways than imagined.
Your contribution will help us purchase the construction materials necessary to dig and extend a water pipe to a well, as well as the necessities to build a school where more children can safely receive the proper education they deserve.
Risk & Challenge
We minimize risk by upfront planning and micromanagement of every volunteer mission we conduct. Since we have been doing this for the past 8 years we became knowledgeable with the area, the people and their needs. We always take precaution to ensure that our volunteers are safe at all times. Never have we subjected any GLOYAC staff member or volunteer to any danger. Should any environmental, political or health risks arise, the volunteer mission will be rescheduled to a later date. There are no immediate challenges to implementing our community development projects in Kenya. In terms of volunteering challenges, volunteers will be leaving the comforts of daily life and embarking into an emotionally stimulating and physically challenging adventure. The mission will be demanding and requires stamina and a good health condition. Volunteers will be required to work long hours. One might find it challenging, but profoundly rewarding nontheless.
How will I know about the project developments?
We will broadcast our mission achievements through various media channels, and upload a report summary to our website upon our return.
The LOYAC community has a globalized humanitarian responsibility and our aim is to lend a helping hand to communities living in underdeveloped environments no matter how near or far. We believe that there are basic human rights that should be available to everyone, and no human life is more valuable than the next, regardless of their ethnicity, culture or beliefs.
